Cameron Crazies!
Jon took me to my first Duke game vs. Ga Tech. Cameron cannot be described. It's like having your favorite Duke players play ball in your packed high-school gym.
Recap of 2012: Christmas 2012
Christmas season is the best. Such a great season of celebrating Jesus this year. Here is our Christmas card photo!
Recap of 2012: Pittsburgh Marathon
In May 2012, we ran our first full marathon! We chose the Pittsburgh Marathon because the date fit perfectly with our training schedule, we thought it would perfect weather, and we had never been there before. We drove up a few days before the race to visit and explore.
One of many views of this great city.
The were several signs and posters aleady set up around town. We were pretty much on a 72 hr adrenaline rush!
At the Health and Fitness Expo. A lot of fun, but beware.. you'll leave thinking you've used the wrong lotion, detergent, socks, snacks, and anything else you needed during training.
The night before we had a pre-race pasta dinner. Ironically, a few of my coworkers were running the race as well- no one planned it! Barb and Jay invited over to meet their family for dinner and then we left for a Pittsburgh Pirates game. We wanted to keep busy to stave off any nerves.
Pre-race. We look so rested, hydrated, awake, alive, and excited. Our smallgroup was AWESOME. They packed us snacks, bible verses for encouragement, and lots of useful items! Thanks guys!
Post-race. Pale, tired, dehydrated, weak, hurting, but so full in our heart of hearts!
We spent the rest of the day eating room service, taking ice baths, and trying not to move for fear of cramping!
I'm so proud of us. I hope we do it again. It was a lot of time, energy, blood, sweat, tears, and one visit to the Wesley Long ER in the making. I couldn't have done it without Jon.

Charlotte get-a-way
This weekend, Jon and I went on an overnight get-a-way to Charlotte. Our first choice was camping, but the forecast wasn't too promising, so we chose to gamble with Priceline.
Turns out it was Restaurant Week. Several restaurants offer Pris Fixe menus to showcase their cuisine. Our choice.. Copper Indian Cuisine. It was AH-mazing! After enjoying some Samosas, we scarfed some duck legs with saffron rice.
We meant to take a picture of the delicious pineapple-cherry kulfi, but we accidentally ate it all first.
We spent the rest of the evening at the NC Music City, touring the campus of Johnson and Wales culinary school, and sitting out by the hotel pool.
After a morning meal at Shoney's (yes, Shoney's. We thought our hotel had complimentary breakfast, but sadly, no, a $17.95/person breakfast buffet instead), we headed downtown for some more strolling and eating. Lunch was from Harvest Moon which is a local, farm-to-table restaurant with prize-winning entrees like mine.. the pork belly sandwich, and delicious novelties like Jon's.. the sweet potato burger.
We have such satisfied and happy tummies.

The beginning...
This is for the fun things, the hilarious things, the important things, and the serious things that happen to us. It serves as a reminder of all the ways love and life inspire us. It's a collection of the ways we experience Jesus through everyday life, or better said, the ways we get to experience life through Jesus.
We love because he first loved us. John 4:19
Here's to food, fun, fitness, and folly!
